March 9th 2007 - European leaders pledge to cut overall levels of greenhouse gas emissions by 20 per cent by 2020 They also agreed a separate binding target of obtaining at least 20 per cent of all Europe’s energy needs from renewable sources by the same date.

New laws for residential energy performance certificate
New legislation that will be introduced on 1st June 2007provides that before a home is offered for sale relevant information to the potential buyer must be produced including a mandatory Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). An example report can be down loaded. Installation of solar panels will improve your rating as well as reducing CO2 emmissions.
