FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How does the EPOCH modelling engine work?
EPOCH uses advanced algorithms to simulate millions of energy upgrade scenarios for your buildings. It analyses existing energy usage patterns, building characteristics, and available upgrade options, to identify the most cost-effective path to reducing emissions and energy costs. The engine performs timestep-by-timestep simulations to ensure maximum accuracy in its recommendations.
How long does a typical analysis take?
The timeline varies depending on the complexity and size of your portfolio. For a single building, we can typically deliver results within a few days. For larger portfolios, where the client has numerous sites with multiple buildings, the process may take a few weeks. However, our EPOCH modelling engine significantly accelerates the analysis compared to traditional methods, which often take months to complete.
Do you need help with funding applications?
Yes, we specialize in preparing documentation for Salix funding applications, including PSDS and the Low Carbon Skills Fund. Our detailed energy modelling and analysis meets the strict audit requirements of these funding bodies, increasing your chances of successful applications.
What information do you need to get started?
To begin an analysis, we typically need basic building information (e.g. size, age, construction type), recent energy bills (ideally 12 months of data), any existing building services or energy audits, and information about current systems (heating, cooling, lighting, etc.). Don’t worry if you don’t have all of this information – we can work with what you have and help gather additional data as needed.
